The Draft
*Each participant will draw a number (1-6) indicating
what pick they will hold in the first round. *Order will alternate round by
round. 1-6, 6-1, 1-6, and so on.
The Roster
Rosters will be made up of 30 players. The following positions
must be filled. 2 Catchers 1 First Baseman 1 Second Baseman 1 Third Baseman
1 Shortstop 1 Corner Infielder 1 Middle Infielder 3 Outfielders 3 Utility Players
(only DH eligible spot) 5 Starting Pitchers 2 Closers 1 Left Handed Middle Reliever
1 Right Handed Middle Reliever That is a total of 23 active players 7 spots
are to be occupied by your bench players. Your bench can have whatever you want
on it. However, remember, your bench are your substitutes and injury replacements
on hand. *Injured players placed on the DL may be placed on your bench the day
they go on the MLB DL. It is not necessary to wait until the beginning of the
next scoring period. No other substitutions can happen during a scoring period.
The Salary Cap
*Each player has an assigned salary. *Each team has a
cap of $40,000.00. This cap includes active and bench players at all times.
*Your roster must stay under the cap at all times. *If a player is dropped there
are cap penalties. If the drop happens before the all star break, ½ of the dropped
player’s salary still counts against your cap. If the drop happens after the
break, ¼ of the players salary counts against your cap. *All trades must be
Cap qualified. *It is your responsibility at Draft to make sure you are Cap
Legal.
Scoring Periods/Transactions
*Scoring periods will run from Monday to Sunday. *Your
standing at the end of the week will determine your order for transactions.
*The first transaction draft will be Friday April 12th. *All transaction
requests are due no later than 12:00 noon on each Friday. *The moves made on
the Friday drafts become effective on the immediate Monday.
Contract Years
*Each franchise has a total of 60 contract years to assign.
*If you give a one year deal to a player, you have no rights to re-sign them
at season’s end. They will be in the following year’s draft. *If a player is
given a multiple year deal, the owner would have a one week period towards the
end of the season to determine if they are going to extend the players contract.
It is allowed to extend the contracts of 60% of your expirations. If they decline,
the player is in the following year’s draft. The value of the player will be
determined at the time of extension. *All trades must qualify under contract
years as well. *Dropped players will count against your number of contract years
if they had multiple year deals. If they are dropped before the All-Star break,
½ of their contract commitment still counts against you, after the break, ¼
counts.
Scoring
We will be returning to the scoring system used in 2000.
Offense: The multiple hit rule is back by popular demand. Each game: 1 hit,
1 point; 2 hits, 3 points; 3 hits, 6 points. Steals and walks will count the
same as hits. Each run scored is 1 point. Each RBI is 1 point Double=2 points,
Triple=3 points, Homerun=4 points Caught stealings and strikeouts count the
same as hits, just in the negative. Offensive Bonus Points: Cycle=25 points,
5 hit game=15 points Pitching: IP(3)-ER(2)-Hits-Walks+Strikeouts=Raw Score Win=Raw
Score + 20 Complete game win= Raw Score + 25 Complete game shutout win = Raw
Score X 2 No Hitter= Raw Score X 3 Perfect Game= Raw Score X 4 No Decision with
<7 IP= Raw Score No Decision with 7 or greater IP = Raw Score +5 Loss= Raw
Score - 5 Save is 10 points, Blown Save is –10
Trading
*All trades must qualify under cap and contract restrictions.
If that is legal then the non-involved owners will vote to approve the trade.
It is legal and will take place immediately after owner approval. *The owners
will have a 24 hour period to vote on the trade. *If a tie occurs in the voting,
an agreed upon mediator will cast the deciding vote. *Trades for contract years,
future draft picks and/or cap $ are prohibited. *Trades made involving draft
picks on draft day for that current year’s draft are legal.
Lineups/Restrictions
*It is the individual owners responsibility to set their
lineups with Mike each week before 5PM on Sunday. If no lineup contact is made,
your previous week’s lineup will go again. *Your team is limited to 162 starts
made by Starting Pitchers during the season. Please monitor this number
to make sure that you are not burned at the end of the regular season. *Left
and Right Handed Middle Relievers eligibility is as follows: They may not make
more than a total of 5 starts or 3 consecutive rotational starts during the
season. They also become ineligible upon achieving 8 saves. If they become ineligible,
they must be either benched, moved, or dropped by the time lineups are due for
the following week. *If a closer becomes a reliever and it is a known fact league
wide then they may become a reliever on your roster. The same goes for starters
that may shift to the bullpen.
Disabled List
*Players that go on the MLB DL can be replaced in your
active lineup at any time. You can either place the injured player on the bench
or release them. If your release them remember the penalties to your cap and
contact years. *An exception for injuries will be made if the following situation
occurs: If you have 4 players on the MLB DL at the same time, you may be given
another roster spot temporarily. The player would count against your cap but
would not upon their release. *Once you fell under 4 DL players, you would lose
the extra spot and face no cap penalties. *This exception only counts for players
injured during the season. If you draft 4 or more players that will open on
the DL, you must leave them on the bench.
FUTURE SEASONS
The draft order for future seasons will be determined
by the finish of the previous season. Last place picks first, etc…..
POSSIBLE EXPANSION
*If the league decides to expand, several things will
occur. There would be an expansion draft in which it would be necessary to leave
players unprotected. *The full details of an expansion draft would be determined
when necessary.
